  1. A reciprocal, parallel or complementary relationship between two or more comparable objects. The correlation between the amount of sunlight and plant growth is well-documented.
  2. One of the several measures of the linear statistical relationship between two random variables, indicating both the strength and direction of the relationship. The correlation coefficient was used to analyze the relationship between the variables in the study.
  3. An isomorphism from a projective space to the dual of a projective space, often to the dual of itself. In algebraic geometry, the correlation between the projective space and its dual is a fundamental concept.
