Nauru, officially the Republic of Nauru, is a tiny island country located in the Pacific Ocean, approximately 2,800 kilometers northeast of Australia. With a total area of approximately 21.3 square kilometers (8.2 square miles), Nauru is the world's third-smallest independent republic, after the Vatican City and Monaco.
